Our Transformational Times
Given the current nature of global affairs, we have become consumed with placing our wagers on what's next as the "global economic crisis" event unfolds across the headlines. We have been feeling tremoring waves of this expectable event for some time now, and it should come to no surprise to John McCain and any other ostrich-heads-stuck-in-sand folks that the fundamental basis of our economy is dubious & unsustainable, and that there really is a transformational process unfolding on planet Earth currently. Is it surprising to anyone that as we walk daily towards 2012, and we walk daily towards a future of incredible technological innovation and the mandatory necessity of an eco-sustainability-centered future, that we will be confronted with every dirty aspect of the collective unconsciousness. As the planetary frequency shifts, we will all be experiencing some level of shamanic initiation and cleansing, which can bring up a lot of fear.Visionary and shamanic initiations aren't always easy, and for a culture such as the Modern USA that does not mandate initiations the way the indigenous inhabitants of the planet did, we will have a much more challenging time coping with the waves of transformation as they unfold, because we have become so attached to the "way things were" and the old paradigm way of thinking and doing. There is so much loss at stake and people are scrambling to hold on to what they know and understand as planetary transformation takes place. But we have to keep our eyes on the prize ~ there is a glimmering future ahead of us, and it asks us to fearlessly let go of our baby blankets and clung to stuffed bears and grow up and move towards the new paradigm way of living. We do not live on Planet Earth the way our previous generations knew it, nor will the future generations live on Planet Earth the way our parents and grandparents knew it. We will be living in uncharted territory, unimaginably more exhilirating than is forecastable. Why do I predict this? To my mind, it is as simple as looking at where we are currently in relationship to where humanity was 30 or 40 years ago. 30 or 40 years ago, there were still indigenous tribes that lived relatively connected to ancient tribal lifestyles that had been handed down for who-knows-how-long. Now those tribes are using cell phones. And in the last 10 years alone, we have continued to see an acceleration of technological advancement that sees no sign of stopping. In the next 4 years alone, the level of technological sophistication is only limited by our limited imagination. In the coming century we should expect that reality will transform many times more than the transformations that have occurred in the last hundred years since the Victorian era.So as we walk into a new paradigm earth, we will have to let go of some serious attachments to old paradigm ways of existing. These are predominately plagued by what we can call "patriarchal" ways of being, or what Martin Prechtel, author of Secrets of the Talking Jaguar, calls "tribalism at its worst". Whether Patriarch-centered tribes in Arabia, Mongolia, Palestine, or Monarch / Emperor centered kingdoms in Europe and China, or Chief-centered tribes in Africa, Mexico, highland Peru and the Amazon Rainforest, our collective unconscious has been plagued by the most hideous aspect of patriarchal tribalism ~ warring (meaning rape & bloodshed). We have become so evolved in our systems of warring that our political leaders have embedded war-machinery creation into the cornerstone of our economy. If you want to look at a guilty culprit for the current economic structure, look towards the global political elite and their dirty dealings with the military industrial complex & multinational corporations that want to turn the world into a global consumerism market. But they've had to slaughter previous paradigm lifestyles in each local corner of the world in order to make way for the global banking system. One stroll through villages and cities in the "developing" nations, and you can see what happens when ancient & tribal ways of living get thrown into the potters wheel with the global banking system and the IMF, and what comes out is a very messy blend of modern global business sticking its neck into every crevice, married with poor people trying to find new & creative means to eek out a living by handicrafts, tourism & service work. But whether in Europe, central Asia or South America, the last several thousand years have seen witness to much warring between neighboring tribes, villages & kingdoms, and now warring between international countries because that was one of the ways that tribes learned how to sustain themselves ~ through plundering. But we have to begin asking ourselves; do we want to live on an earth that is peaceful, sustainable, healthy for ourselves and future generations and nurturing to the human spirit ~ or do we want to continue living enmeshed in these old paradigm patriarchal dirty tribalism ways of living? I personally vote for healthy, peaceful & sustainable. And we have to ask ourselves; do we want to be enmeshed in the karma of a plundering based economy on an energetic level? Will we really be able to continue to be sustained through such means? What's fascinating to me is that concurrent with this global dialogue is a really interesting conversation that the modern Evangelical christian movement is having, and that is about the predicted "end times". People are so concerned about these end times prophecies because that means an end to old paradigm, Patriarchal modes of being. And people are really attached to this way of being, and completely afraid of change. A lot of Evangelical Christians are scared of meditation, calling Eckhart Tolle the Antichrist because he espouses focusing your attention on the present moment and creating more awareness of your psychic / feeling state. Since Oprah has been throwing him up on the big screen, all those Midwestern housewives have caught whiff of the updraft of the modern conscious yogic movement and are trying to start being present ~ which has helped birth the modern "Yoga for Christians" movement (See: Holyyoga.net). The Evangelicals have so much fear around Yoga, as Yoga and Meditation could possibly lead to becoming psychically open and receptive to demonic spirit entities! (See: EternalPath.com) Combined with that is a serious commitment to the most arrogant spiritual philosophy on planet earth ~ "Our Way (Jesus Christ) or the Highway (Hell)".Because of this "Our Way or the Highway" mentality, Christianity has created a massive separation between themselves and everyone else on the planet; they've created a deep divide between themselves and Arabic peoples that stretches back to the Crusades, between them and Asian Religions and placed a huge "Heathen / Demonic" X across any spiritual practice that is indigenous / different. This type of separatism / superiority complex is at the very heart of tribalism at its worst. And as a global culture, we cannot afford to fall prey to this kind of Highway mentality any longer, as we move deeper into the throws of a global economic shift, we need more of the mentality that was central to Christ's message ~ which essentially boils down to 'judge not lest ye be judged' and 'love and nurture others.' The basic tenets of 'compassion' & 'kindness' are at the heart of all spirituality globally, and is a non-religion-centric concept. And as we move forward into the new paradigm, compassion for our community, and for the global village, will have to come first, as we may possibly be confronted with challenges beyond the scope of our imagination. Every type of scary prediction is being made about sudden changes, but so long as we go into our hearts and meet each other in our lives from our hearts, what do we have to fear? We can meet any being on the planet in compassion and love and be met, be received, be nurtured, and grow as a global community. We can give & receive support.Ultimately, the transformation that is taking place in the modern culture could potentially transform us from a separatist, fear based social dynamic, to one that seeks to put the heart first. This is hard work, and takes time and patience for this transformation to be made. When we look at where we are currently within social dynamics, especially the energy in large cities, the energy of social disconnection, rudeness, arrogance & judging others, putting logic & rules instead of compassion first, makes ourselves feel less well and makes others wither in diminished vitality. When we realize that if we don't begin putting heart-centered values first, our lives and our communities will suffer. And massive triggers such as economic challenge are going to force us to come together, rather than pull apart, because we will only thrive by doing our best to support each other. Emotional triggers & psychic experiences will continue to rise towards the forefront of social dynamics, as we begin to listen more deeply to our fellow human beings and rise in presence and respect towards those around us. We may be less affluent, and may have to become smarter and more frugal with how we live and expend our energy, we may have to become conscious of our actions and the consequences they have for the earth and those around us, we may have to tear up some parking lots and start planting gardens, but hopefully we can emerge as a more peaceful, more sustainable culture. It has been my experience too many times to account for, that challenging, scary, frustration-inducing emotional triggers, such as being given a notice of eviction, being fired from a job, or breaking up with a partner, has nearly always been followed with an ascension upwards into a new level of peace, joy and vitality. Sometimes the letting go process can be painful and can feel wounding during the experience, but when we surrender to what is, we receive the medicine of the trigger. And a global economic transformation is just one more opportunity for us to surrender to what is and call in the next level medicine of purification and healing. I don't know one person in my life who isn't currently going through a major change, some death in their family, being uprooted and moving, going through major transformational triggers. It is energy in the air, and we are all currently being suffused with this simmering, bubbling shift. As we move through this transformation, try to keep centered and stay connected to your heart. Listening to this wisdom will always guide you to the right place at the right time, and you can trust that you are supported through these transformational times. As Eden Skytime of 13Moon.com says, "Every time we don‘t take the bait of fear and separation, we become more grounded in the vibrations of abundance, fortifying ourselves with the ever multiplying wealth of Trust in the divine forces that are governing the unfolding of these huge planetary shifts and orchestrating the exquisite brush strokes of our personal human sagas wrought with emotional ups, downs and all arounds. Every time we choose to align with Trust and Love for the Interconnectedness of this entire Cosmic manifestation of life, we are the Victory in this now moment." Interestingly enough, the current global economic crisis made news only days after Skytime & 13Moon announced that there were only six 'galactic spin cycles' left before we crossed the Dec 21, 2012 threshold, and that the sixth cycle had begun only days before the financial crisis exploded into national consciousness.
